  1. What  Have I  Done?
  2.  
  3. I laid up in my bed one night and stared up at the ceiling.
  4. I broke down in streams of tears. I drenched my face with all my feeling.
  5. I thought about the years gone past and wondered what I did.
  6. I never let anyone know how I felt.  I kept my feelings hid.
  7.  
  8. Until this night inside my room when all had bursted out.
  9. I cursed and cried and punched and wined and gave God a great big shout.
  10. "What have I done to deserve all this? I've been generous all my life.
  11. I'll do anything for anyone, yet my life is filled with strife."
  12.  
  13. "So many times I've tried to help. But you just turned away.
  14. Until now you've never asked for help in any way".
  15.  "Give me your will", is what God said. "And a chance to intercede.
  16. You can not handle it all yourself. Take my hand and let me lead."
  17.  
  18. "Your life is a road that's filled with bumps and also many bends.
  19. Until you put your trust in me, you'll run into all dead ends"
  20.  "God please help me with my life. My will is yours to keep"
  21. With that in mind I dried my face and finally went to sleep.

  23.  I prayed to God night and day for an answer to my question.
  24. I stopped trying to fix all things. And took the Lord's suggestion.
  25. He helped me through the bends and bumps I met along my road.
  26. He showed me that without his help I couldn't bear the load.
  27.  
  28. Slowly things began to get better as I offered no resistance.
  29. And finally my life became a much happier existance.
  30. Then this night inside my room my feelings bursted out.
  31. My eyes drew forth the tears of joy and I gave God a joyful shout.
  32.  
  33. "What have I done to deserve all this? For you to bless me the way you do.
  34. Certainly I haven't done enough.  I've just complained to you".
  35.  "Complained you did and quite alot, but those are little things.
  36. You've handed your life over to me and Now your my Angel Without Wings".
